Relationship Mediator

Conflict Coach

I teach couples how to express their feelings and needs so that they can be in healthy relationships. I also lead conflict coaching with individuals to help them feel empathy and internal resolution.

About me

. . . or what makes you a relationship mediator/conflict coach anyway?

I met someone named Max at a New Culture retreat who said that he was a relationship mediator. Fascinated, I asked him to describe his work and how he got there. He’d originally been a computer programmer, but in his free time, he had been involved in men’s circles and started learning nonviolent communication (NVC) from that. Later, he and his wife started mediating day-of cases at their local courthouse. One thing led to another, and he found a new career that combined these skills.

Similarly, I have led a community-driven women’s sex discussion group since 2017 and an all-gender sex discussion group since 2019 (Women Uncorked and People Uncorked, respectively). I loved how we supported and educated each other. However, I’d long wanted to expand into some kind of professional coaching without becoming a therapist. I took Max’s dual approach and studied NVC with trainers from around the world while becoming certified in several different mediation models in Washington, DC and Maryland.

I’m now skilled with combined NVC/mediation skills and am ready to use them to help others with their challenges.

~~~~~
I’ve lived in Washington, DC since 2005, though I originally hail from south Louisiana and still enjoy eating crawfish and king cake. I graduated from Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts, and have a bachelor’s degree from New College of Florida (yes, that New College of Florida) and an MBA from the University of Florida Warrenton College of Business. My favorite things are cooking, cats, and playing classical piano.
